Condensational Growth of n-Propanol and n-Nonane Droplets: Experiments and Model Calculations

  • Conference paper
Nucleation and Atmospheric Aerosols

We have studied unary and binary condensational growth of propanolnonane droplets. The condensational growth has been experimentally observed using CAMS-technique. To evaluate the thermophysical properties of the studied compounds, the observations have been compared to model results. The general agreement between the experiments and model is satisfying (maximum differences between modelled and measured radii < 6%), using literature expressions for, e.g., saturation vapour pressures and activity coefficients of the the studied compounds, and assuming mass and thermal accommodation coefficients of unity.

Keywords Condensation, propanol, nonane
