Abstract

Professor Lichtenheldt was the Nestor of Mechanisms and Machine Theory after the 2nd World War at TU Dresden, Germany. He became an honorary member of IFToMM in Zakopane 1969. He was an excellent teacher and educated a new generation of students in mechanism design. He also wrote several textbooks and numerous reports and papers on his research.
