CORRELLATION BETWEEN AQUOES PORE PERMEABILITY AND SURFACE CHARGE OF WHEAT SEEDLINGS NUCLEI

Abstract

Nucleocytoplasmic transport is mediated by shuttling receptors that recognize specific signals on protein or RNA cargoes and translocate the cargoes through the nuclear pore complex. Transport receptors appear to move through the nuclear pore complex by facilitated diffusion. We discuss recent experimental data on the electrokinetic potential of nuclei and the possible role of phospholipids in regulation of this charge. Such possibility can be realized by generation of difference potential outside and inside of nuclear envelope due to asymmetric distribution and content of phospholipids in double membrane.
