Abstract

The structure and evolution of Hii regions has been described by Will Henney in this volume. Young massive stars emit copious fluxes of ultraviolet radiation, forming regions of almost entirely ionized gas in their surroundings. The dynamics of an Hii region depend on the history of the illumination and the initial structure of the surrounding medium.
