Abstract
You must be loyal to the Sirkar, whose pay you draw, and fight with bravery against the foe. It would be a dreadful thing to be faithless during a war, when our Government is so just and kind. I am always thinking of serving Government, but what can I do — a schoolboy of six years old? If only I were twenty what would I not give to be a soldier of the King! But, alas, I am only a boy of six. Our King is now the chief King in the world, and it is our duty to help him. I am always thinking how I can kill the King’s enemies or give my life for him. I swear this, that when I am big enough I will enter the King’s army.
