Abstract
The work of a systems analyst on any given project does not cease when the system becomes operational and error-free. Yet many systems analysts move on to new projects without ever carrying out a systematic review and evaluation of their development work. This is unfortunate, as the purpose of such assessment is very important:
-
* First, the achievements of the operational system are compared to the objectives originally set and to the system definition.
-
* Secondly, the efficiency of the system is examined to see where improvements can be made.
-
* Thirdly, the evaluation process provides practical feedback which is essential for systems planning and for the systems analyst’s own professional development.
