Abstract

In Chapter 3 we referred to the past struggles nurses had had to achieve comparable status with the other major status holders in health care, the doctors and the administrators. The post-Salmon changes and nurses’ inclusion in the new consensus management teams were an important achievement, even if, in practice, some members were more equal than others.
