Subjective and institutional arenas: the ward

  • Chapter
Nursing in Conflict

Abstract

This final chapter allows the Ward Sisters interviewed to speak for themselves at greater length and describes some of the common problems that confronted nurses at this level. But these problems have a complex chronology and are of a long-standing nature. Griffiths has not necessarily addressed these issues. All the external forces referred to in Chapter 2 are reflected here. The examples and comments are grouped according to types of acute service.
