Abstract

We have considered the market for our produce so we can now begin to examine the economic characteristics and behaviour of the producer. In the first chapter it was shown how horticulture emerged as an industry in economic development. An industry is a collection of producers or firms and ‘industrial structure’ refers to the collective characteristics of these firms.
