Abstract
The estimation of dose in an experiment influences the results strongly. Hence the effective dose fixation in animal studies, which is an inevitable part in drug research, is significant as it varies among species. Hence the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics need to consider on dose fixation and various methods are available for this, few of which are described in this chapter. The conversion based on normalization of dose-to-body surface area and animal equivalent dose determination is explained with the guidelines for calculations.
