Abstract
Contents of this paper is that after an exact comparison of qualitative quality management methods you come to the conclusion that FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) according to VDA 4.2 can cover most of the other quality methods. This fact will be utilised to show the possibility to bring FMEA, with the help of software support, to a design monitor-, regulation- and management tool which can reasonably accompany the product design cycle of a new product.
