Abstract
The paper demonstrates that a simple method exists, by which easily accessible information aggregated in international statistics can be used to derive decision criteria for use in cost effectiveness evaluations of safety interventions. Application of the criteria will provide increased healthy life expectance, without increasing budgets. The criteria are derived from combining societal indicators published by the United Nations Development Program, the World Health Organization and in national statistics.
