Abstract

Hansteen (27 miles) is a shallow crater with walls a little higher than ½ mile. The floor is rough and has some small hills. This formation sits on a slightly upraised area in the extreme southwest area of Oceanus Procellarum, the Ocean of Storms. Look for it about 4 days after first quarter. The following three formations are a little further west and best viewed a day later then Hansteen.

Sirsalis (25 miles) is a prominent crater west and north of Hansteen. On the photo it is the just above its label and is shadow filled. I estimate it at about 1 mile deep and there is a central mountain.
