Abstract
A model of a “Corporate Memory” that influences an organisation in carrying out its purpose, and is a repository of information and knowledge beneficial to the future operation of the organisation is used to suggest ways of deriving value from different components of that “Corporate Memory”. The model is combined with a generic representation of key organisation functions (in this case, representative of a manufacturing organisation) to provide a basis for knowledge “maps” that reflect what an organisation knows and where that knowledge is located.
