Abstract
Postoperative respiratory complications contribute to length of hospital stay, morbidity, and mortality. Hypoxemia and hypercapnia in neurosurgical patients have particularly grave consequences, such as cerebral vasodilatation, increases in ICP, and hypoxic brain damage.
