Analysis of central stars of old planetary nebulae: Problems with the Balmer lines

Abstract

New observations of the central stars of old planetary nebulae are presented and discussed. The attempts to fit the observed Balmer lines of the hydrogen rich central stars by theoretical profiles and their failure is described. Possible reasons for this failure are discussed.
