Skin reaction in humans due to penetration of cercariae of the schistosomal flukes Trichobilharzia spp., Bilharziella and relatives, which use birds as final hosts. Trichobilharzia cercariae die in the skin leaving inflamed and itching pustules, which disappear after some days.
