Abstract

In the NHSE Priorities and Planning Guidance for the NHS: 1995/6 (EL(94)55) Priority I includes the following:

Arrangements for education and training are improved and produce greater value for money. The agreed changes to Higher Specialist Training (the Calman Report) should be implemented, targets for reduction in junior doctors hours met and there should be full and effective participation in new arrangements for commissioning education and training.
