Abstract

Binary Cu/Cr catalysts, containing various molar ratios of copper to chromium, were synthesized and their catalytic activities were examined for the hydrogenolysis of glycerol to propylene glycol. When catalyst containing Cu and Cr ratio of 1:2, it was mainly composed of CuCr2O4 phase. And it was found to have the highest catalytic activity in this reaction, due to its favorable reduction properties.
