Mark I. West is a Professor of English at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he teaches courses in children's literature. His books includeTrust Your Children: Voices Against Censorship in Children's Literature (Neal-Schuman);Roald Dahl (Twayne);Wellsprings of Imagination: The Homes of Children's Authors (Neal-Schuman). He is currently writing a book entitledEveryone's Guide to Children's Literature, which will be published by Highsmith Press in 1997.
