Biology and behaviour of Central Asiatic Snow Finches (Montifringilla) and Mountain-steppe Sparrows (Pyrgilauda)

Abstract

Snow Finches and Mountain-steppe Sparrows differ in habitat selection, feeding, social and vocal behaviour. For these reasons, separation of the genusMontifringilla intoMontifringilla andPyrgilauda is recommended.
