Abstract

The evidence for the participation of O -2 in many biological processes has been grown rapidly since the discovery of Superoxide dismutase (SOD) by McCord and Fridovich in 1969.1 It has been demonstrated, in numerous systems, that O -2 exhibits deleterious properties and is a very toxic entity.2,3
