Effects of pegbovigrastim administration on periparturient diseases, milk production, and reproductive performance of Holstein cows
2018, Journal of Dairy ScienceCitation Excerpt :In contrast, a study by McDougall et al. (2017) reported a significant increase in MONO and LYM counts. Moreover, similar increases in MONO and LYM concentrations were observed in humans treated with G-CSF (Pollmächer et al., 1996; Reyes et al., 1999). Based on our results and those reported by McDougall et al. (2017), we concluded that PEG treatment increases PMN, MONO, and LYM numbers in Holstein cows.
The association between fatigue and inflammatory marker levels in cancer patients: A quantitative review
2007, Brain, Behavior, and ImmunityCitation Excerpt :Moreover, quantification of cytokines may be complicated by their limited biological half-life and by their insufficient diffusion from peripheral sites into the blood stream (Fuchs et al., 1988). IL-1β, for example, is hardly detectable in human blood, even in patients with severe acute infection or during experimental endotoxemia (Pollmächer et al., 1996). In this quantitative review, the Ahlberg et al. (2004) study failed to detect IL-1β levels in serum samples.
