Abstract

The renormalization of scalar φ4 theory for D = 4 and of scalar φ3 theory for D = 6 is carried out at one and two loops using the technique of nonlocal regularization. This demonstrates that the method treats overlapping divergences correctly. The two loop beta functions are computed and shown to agree with the known, universal results. An explicit formula is derived for inferring the nonlocally regulated result from the dimensionally regulated result. This leads to a conjecture for the general functional measure factor in nonlocally regulated gauge theories.
