XRD and XAFS study on structure and cation valence state of layered ruthenium oxide electrodes, Li<inf>2</inf>RuO<inf>3</inf> and Li<inf>2</inf>Mn<inf>0.4</inf>Ru<inf>0.6</inf>O<inf>3</inf>, upon electrochemical cycling
2016, Solid State IonicsCitation Excerpt :The Ru L3-edge spectra were fitted with two gauss functions by a least-squares method. The peaks of low and high energy correspond to the transition from 2p to partially occupied t2g and unoccupied eg orbital, respectively [48–50]. The gauss peak width corresponding to the transition to t2g was fixed at the value of sample before electrochemical cycling to avoid the correlation with more intense peak attributed to the transition to eg.
Crystal structure, oxidation state and magnetism of Sr<inf>x</inf>La <inf>2-x</inf>Cu<inf>0.5</inf>Ru<inf>0.5</inf>O<inf>4</inf> (x=1, 1.5)
2014, Journal of Solid State ChemistryCitation Excerpt :These effects have been explained by the competing interaction between ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic superexchange interactions [12] arising from the distribution, in a disordered fashion of two cations with different electronic states over a single crystallographic site. Previous studies [6,13] indicate that single phase SrxLa2−xCu1−yRuyO4−δ exists in the composition ranges 0≤x≤2 and 0≤y≤1 with 1+2y>x≥2y. Two of the most important parameters that control the electronic behavior of these materials are the valences of the Cu and Ru ions.
Problems with the thermogravimetric determination of oxygen stoichiometries in pure and rare-earth substituted La<inf>2</inf>RuO<inf>5</inf>
2013, Solid State SciencesCitation Excerpt :On the other hand, RuO2 provides the typical edge shape of ruthenium-based oxides with two very intense white lines. These two white lines correspond to excitations into the 4d-t2g and eg levels of Ru in an octahedral oxygen coordination [28]. The same structure of the white lines was also observed for the original (i.e. not reduced) La2RuO5 [21].
