Abstract
Welcome to the 1st International Workshop on Socially Intelligent Computing (SINCOM2012). SINCOMfocuses on the study, design, development and evaluation of emergent Socially Intelligent Computing systems. The workshop addresses all aspects of socially intelligent computing, that span a variety of issues ranging from the modeling of social behavior in social computational systems, the architectures and design issues of such systems, social media analytics and monitoring, stream processing of social data and social activities, semantic web and Linked Data approaches, the discovery, collection, and extraction of social networks, as well as information retrieval and machine learning methods for socially intelligent computing.
