2018, Annales de Cardiologie et d'AngeiologieImmediate effect of percutaneous transvenous mitral commissurotomy on atrial electromechanical delay and P-wave dispersion in patients with severe mitral stenosis
2015, Indian Heart JournalCitation Excerpt :Percutaneous transvenous mitral commissurotomy (PTMC) is currently the treatment of choice for patients with symptomatic severe MS and favorable valve morphology. Successful PTMC leads to increase in mitral valve area (MVA), cardiac index, and decrease in transmitral diastolic pressure gradient, left atrial pressure, left atrial volume, and pulmonary artery pressures.16,17 It also leads to sustained improvement in the functional class of the patients.18,19
