According to Stephen Wright, one Care of the Elderly Unit’s goal at Tameside General Hospital was to implement primary nursing as a means of organising care and as part of the way in which nursing was thought about and practised. Wright and five colleagues have written a guide to primary nursing which deals essentially with day-to-day practicalities but imparts a vision of its scope for transforming the nature of nursing.
