Keeping your possessions safe while you work requires some forethought, as Lawrence Cohen reports

COATS, CASH, credit cards. Whatever personal belongings you take with you into work, you need to take steps to keep them safe during your shift. Hospitals are as vulnerable to theft as any other public place. There are no crime statistics available to show the extent of the problem – NHS trusts lump recorded incidents of personal theft in with theft of hospital equipment. But every hospital security manager will tell you nurses cannot afford to leave personal property lying around.
