高中英語教師素養導向教學之個案研究

A Case Study on the Competency-based Instruction of Senior High School English Teachers

摘要


隨著十二年國民基本教育之推展,實踐素養導向教學乃刻不容緩之教育大事,教師即藉英語素養特色課程啟蒙,結合社會與生活時事議題文章探討,培育學生主動探究之能力,對生活周遭環境的人事物亦持以同理心與包容心,強化學生對全球國際動向的覺察敏銳度,透過實作課程的薰陶,促發學生感知課堂學習內容與生活情境相連結,並藉由分組合作學習,尊重與關懷他人的思維、悅納他人心中的觀點;探究事理、樂於學習;鑑賞生活情境人事物的美好、實踐創新等能力,成為終身學習者。 高中階段教育為學生學習最重要的銜接環節,培養學生學習興趣與啟發學習動機乃為其必要之事,如此面對未來繁複多變的情境,定能穩固臨危不亂之基礎,故本研究將以一所公立高中英語教師為研究對象,採用質性研究取徑,運用訪談與文件分析等方式,雕塑個案學校英語教師發展素養特色課程之脈絡,及其擘劃英語素養課程之相關具體作為與影響因素,同時亦針對英語教師開展素養導向教學困境與解決策略加以探討,描繪出個案高中英語教師素養導向教學之具體實行路徑。 根據個案研究分析與發現,歸納出本研究結果如下: 1.個案高中英語教師打造英語素養課程藍圖,確立學生學習新風貌。 2.教師會透過英語素養特色課程規劃與實施情形,不斷調整與修正。 3.學校發展素養特色課程的策略,常經由教師專業學習社群會議的交 流,引導教師教學行動,以發展學校素養導向教學之特色。 4.教師發展英語素養特色課程,其影響因素乃因藉由鞏固學生素養生活價值,強化學生學習動機並提升其自主學習力。 5.學校提升教師專業成長為個案高中發展校本特色課程之挑戰因素。

With the implementation of the 12-year basic education, putting competency-based instruction into practice has become a serious concern in education, which needs to be addressed without any delay. Through the instruction of the curriculum featuring English competency combined with investigations of articles on current social and life issues, students are to be cultivated to become active explorers, with empathy and tolerance for people and things in their surroundings. Additionally, the acuity of students’ awareness of the international trends in the world is to be strengthened; Further, through the nurturing of the practical curriculum, students are prompted to perceive the coherence between classroom learning content and life situations. Through cooperative group learning, students are to become lifelong learners with the ability to respect and care for the thoughts of others, accept others’ views, explore the reasons of various phenomena, delight in learning, appreciate the beauty of people and things in life, and innovate. Senior secondary education is the most crucial link in students' learning, which is imperative for cultivating their interest in learning and for inspiring their learning motivation. Thus, when faced with complicated, ever-changing situations in the future, their foundation to remain composed in face of dangers can be strengthened. Hence, this paper took the English teachers of a senior public high school as its research subjects. It adopted the qualitative research approach, using methods such as interviews and document analysis to detail the context in which the English teachers of the case school developed the curriculum featuring competency and relevant actions and influencing factors in their planning of the English competency-based curriculum. Furthermore, this paper also investigated difficulties faced by the English teachers, along with their solutions, in implementing competency-based instruction, portraying concrete practices in competency-based instruction of the English teachers of the case school. Based on the analysis and findings of the case study, the following research results are concluded: 1).The English teachers of the case senior high school created an English competency curriculum direction and view of change, which has established a new learning style for students. 2).The teachers would constantly adjust and revise the curriculum featuring English competency through its planning and implementation. 3).Through the exchanges in meetings with teacher professional learning community, the school would guide the teachers in teaching practices and solve the practical problems faced in teaching. 4).The teachers would consolidate the life value of students’ competency, strengthen their learning motivation, and enhance their self-regulated learning ability. 5).The challenging factor in developing the curriculum for the case school was the enhancement of the teachers’ professional growth.
