機械手臂製造編織於建築中的應用

摘要


隨著數位時代來臨與科技技術的進步,許多複雜的計算與編程都可以在電腦上進行運算,以往編織構造中難以計算與繪製的模式透過設計演算的方式被解析。因此本研究以數位設計的方式,整合編織式的構造系統,實驗與製造實際材料的編織並討論在建築構築上的可能性。   編織建築可以由不同層面加以探討,關於編織建築的研究大致可以分成三部分。第一部分是建築形式上的編織,在建築設計過程中,量體外觀的獨特性是重要考慮的條件之一,而編織手法常常適用處理建築外觀形式上的複雜變化。第二部分是建築與環境的織理性,可以由社會、人文、環境等廣義角度來解釋建築在不同涵構中因為各種因素交織而成的關係。第三部分則是以結構角度思考輕量化建築可能性,編織本身可以強化輕質單元材料的建構方式,在適當的條件下運用在建築的構築上,建築將會產生更多的建造方式,本研究著重在上述第三個要素—材料與構造的編織關係進行討論。   本研究首先了解一般生活中常見編織布品所使用的材料所須具備的特性,加以整理之後,以作為後續思考與研究中單元材料演進的基礎。接著嘗試材料與參數化路徑的模擬,以碳纖維及玻璃纖維為主要編織的材料,透過對於機器手臂製造的輔具製作與路徑調整,研究不同單元的編織演算法,並發展出建築表面構築的數位製造系統,以說明不同基本單元的製作與組合方式。整體而言,本研究嘗試透過碳纖維與玻璃纖維在單元輔具上進行編織後將單元固化後進行組合,以驗證編織手法在建築構築上的可能性。本研究期待位結合織理性建築與數位製造討論,提供研究者未來的研究方向。

With the advent of the digital age and advances in technology, many complicated computation and programming can be carried out on the computer.The traditional weaving patterns were hard to calculate and draw manualy, however through the design calculation method the difficulties are resolved. Therefore, this study is based on digital design, integrating textile structural systems,experimenting with the fabrication of actual materials and discussing the possible applications in building construction. In discussion of weaving architecture, there are a three aspects of discussion can be start with.Firstly,is the architectural form of weaving, outstanding geometry outlook’s is the key of consideration throughout the design process, weaving technique often seen in apply on complex façade design. Secondly, is the weaving of architecture and the environment,which can be interpreted by the society,humanities and surroundings to explain the relationship of architecture in different contexts because of various factors.Finally, is to consider the possibility of lightweight building for the textile-structural, weaving itself can strengthen the unit of lightweight materials, which will produce new perspectives of architectural tectonic.This study focuses on the third element -- the relationship between material and structure. This research begins to understand weaving techniques found in fabric, as the foundation methodology to be further develop into basic modular unit. Following with the considerations of potential material, carbon fibre and glass fibre as the main materials in experimenting using robotic arm to circulate the designed path of weave. Research is done in modular system via parametric tools, then develop into building façade system throughout a series of modular interconnection. In general, the objective would be experimenting carbon fibre and glass fibre weaving potential in architecture by means of digital design tools, following by digital fabrication and assembly of actual scale model. Outcome of the research aims to open up a discussion on the relationship of weaving architecture and digital fabrication as a platform for future researcher to explore.
