高第建築的文化詮釋

摘要


論文提要內容: 安東尼.高第(Antoni Gaudí)是十九世紀最傑出的建築師之一,其建築個人色彩強烈,充滿豐富的想像力與造型變化,在世界各地享有盛名。 本論文將依循紀爾茲探究文化的方式來分析高第之建築。紀爾茲認為要研究一處的文化,應在瞭解文化脈絡內之意義的前提下,才能夠有效地解釋該文化;其見解引發筆者探究建築與原生文化脈絡内的意義與關係,而非單純的研究建築體本身的風格或建造手法,進而對高第建築做一詮釋。首先緒論的部份,筆者將說明研究動機與目的、研究方法與原因,以及研究範圍與限制;第貳章將探討高第與時代背景。除透視高第的作品集結地-巴塞隆納,探討城市規劃的發展與變遷,並將範圍擴及至整個加泰隆尼亞,綜觀十九世紀該區的藝文發展,而後深入探析風靡歐洲的文化思潮-新藝術運動。其次,不僅研究高第之創作與環境背景,並對其建築語言做一解析,以達對高第建築的深入研究;第参章至第伍章則為本論文之重心,除藉由諸多高第的相關評論來討論其建築上的象徵亦或裝飾元素等意涵,筆者更將其建築中富含的主要寓意歸類為宗教與神話、民族與歷史、流行與地域三個方面來解析,在瞭解該地文化脈絡的意義之前提下,與高第創作背景和時代環境做一連結,並以文化人類學、藝術社會學的論述來輔助,呈現出高第建築中的文化元素;最後一章為結論,總結本論文之研究結果。

Abstract: Antoni Gaudí was known as one of the outstanding architects in the 19th century. His artworks, which are full of undividual personality and abundant imagination, are varied in forms and famous all over the world. The main purpose of this thesis is to analyze the anthropologist designed by Gaudí with a method Clifford Geertz used to study a culture. According to Clifford, we need to comprehend the meaning of a culture so that we can interpret the unfamiliar culture before we analyze it effectively. Therefore, his opinion brings us to think about the fully meaning and the relationship between the architecture and the orignal culture. This thesis contains six chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, which shows the motivation, the objective, the methodology, the frame and the limit of the investigation. The second chapter is about the background of Cataluña- from the development and transition of plan of City Barcelona to the development of cultures and arts in the whole Cataluña in the 19th century. In addition, it also explains the european cultural movemente- Art Nouveau. Besides, it involves a discussion on the life and ideas of creation of Gaudí, and then it does a study of his architectonic language such as the four stylish periods, the aesthetic ideas and the technical uses. From the third to the fifth chapter, it includess the centre of the investigation. Aside from the investigation on the meaning of the symbols and the decorative elements of the architecture of Gaudí. We aim at the cultural meaning of his artworks, and we will summarize and comment the following three subjects: religion and myth, nation and history, fashion and region. Under the comprehesion of the specific culture, we connect the background of Gaudí with the theory of cultural anthropology. Then we use the art of sociology to support this investigation. The last part is the conclusion which is the result of the thesis.
