Therefore, this study aims to propose a National Plan of Coastal Erosion Takaful Scheme for the coastal community in Malaysia. In order to further assess the proposition, data were collected from focus group discussions involving Central Bank of Malaysia, takaful operators and academicians. The findings showed the National Plan of Coastal Erosion Scheme successfully proposed. Through the implementation of this scheme, the welfare of coastal communities can be maximised by minimising their financial burden a rising due to coastal erosion problems.
