Abstract
It is argued that the decrease in size of Belgian coins is not only due to economic reasons (production costs, number of coins with a value less than one Franc), but also to the “appeal” of the coins. The appeal involves two components: The purchasing-power of the Franc, and the prosperity of the Belgian people. An empirical study that supports the argument is presented.- Year: 1989
