Type locality and data. “ Ontario, Lanarck, Canadá ” (HT, ♂, CNC).

Material examined. Los Lagos: (sex undeterminated) Maicolpué, 22.XII.1993, Leg. G. & M. Wood (CNC).

References. Vockeroth, 1986: 190 (desc.).

World distribution. Canadá, USA and Chile.

Chilean distribution. Only known from Los Lagos region (Fig. 164).

Altitudinal range. The locality where this species was registered is near the coast.

Biology and notes. Probably an introduced species. The genus Paragus occurs throughout all continents. In the New World, seven species have been recorded from Yukon to Central America. This is the first record of this tribe and genus in southern South America. We do not know the flowers that this species visits, the prey they consume in their larval stages, or the basic aspects of its biology and ecology.

Conservation status. Not evaluated because this species is considered exotic.
