Description
The first results of the techno-typological analysis of the flaked artifacts recovered in the intervention on Calle Trabajadores (Nos. 14-18) of the current urban area of Valencia de la Concepción are presented. At the methodological level, a double analytical perspective is used. On the one hand, the analysis of raw materials and, on the other, the application of the concept of lithic operational chain to establish the state of transformation and amortization of the carved objects present in said locus, in the context of the prehistoric site of Valencina de la Conception. The first results of the analysis of materials are presented, indicating the overwhelming presence of acidic volcanic siliceous rocks (rhyolites and riodacites), as well as other types of volcanic rocks of the basalt family, which were used for a non-specialized domestic knapping and, at the same time, as a raw material to develop specialized laminar technology. Lastly, the outstanding lithic complex on Trabajadores street is related to other groups present in funeral contexts in Valencina de la Concepción. This allows us to draw conclusions about local and supraterritorial supplies related to the activities and social behaviors developed in this prehistoric site.
