Cnicus benedictus Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 826. 1753, typ. cons.

"Habitat in Chio, Lemno, Hispania ad versuras agrorum." RCN: 6621.

Basionym of: Centaurea benedicta (L.) L. (1763).

Lectotype (Jeffrey in Kew Bull. 22: 138. 1968): Herb. Clifford: 394, Cnicus 1 (BM-000646941).

Generitype of Cnicus Linnaeus, nom. cons.

Current name: Centaurea benedicta (L.) L. (Asteraceae).
