Description

Clutia cascarilla Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 1042. 1753.

"Habitat in Carolina." RCN: 7267.

Basionym of: Croton cascarilla (L.) L. (1763).

Lectotype (Dandy, Sloane Herbarium: 112. 1958): [icon] " An Ricinoides Aeleagni folio? " in Catesby, Nat. Hist. Carolina 2: 46, t. 46. 1736. - Voucher: Herb. Sloane 232: 24 (BM-SL).

Current name: Croton cascarilla (L.) L. (Euphorbiaceae).
