Description

Cassine capensis Linnaeus, Mantissa Plantarum Altera: 220. 1771.

"Habitat ad Cap. b. spei. Dav. Royenus." RCN: 2138.

Lectotype (Archer & Van Wyk in S. African J. Bot. 63: 149. 1997): [icon] " Phillyrea Capensis, folio Celastri " in Dillenius, Hort. Eltham. 2:315, t. 236, f. 305. 1732.

Current name: Cassine peragua L. subsp. peragua (Celastraceae).
