Description

Carthamus corymbosus (Linnaeus) Linnaeus, Species Plantarum, ed. 2, 2: 1164. 1763.

"Habitat in Apuliae, Hellesponti, Lemni, Thraciae campis." RCN: 6009.

Basionym: Echinops corymbosus L. (1753).

Lectotype (Turland in Jarvis & Turland in Taxon 47: 360. 1998): Herb. Clifford: 391, Echinops 2, sheet 26 (BM-000646905).

Current name: Cardopatium corymbosum (L.) Pers. (Asteraceae).
