Description
Scirpus spadiceus Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 1: 51. 1753.
"Habitat in Jamaicae fluviis." RCN: 425.
Lectotype (McVaugh, Fl. Novo-Galiciana 13: 380. 1993): [icon] "Gramen cyperoides majus aquaticum, paniculis plurimis junceis sparsis, spicis ex oblongo rotundis spadiceis" in Sloane, Voy. Jamaica 1: 118, t. 76, f. 2. 1707. - Typotype: Herb. Sloane 2: 53 (BM-SL).
Current name: Fimbristylis spadicea (L.) Vahl (Cyperaceae).
