Original material: Herb. Clifford: 10, Justicia 3 (BM); Herb. Linn. No. 28.22 (LINN); [icon] in Plukenet, Phytographia: t. 279, f. 6. 1694; Almag. Bot.: 142. 1696 - Voucher: Herb. Sloane 100: 35 (BM-SL).
Current name: Dicliptera sexangularis (L.) Juss. (Acanthaceae).
Note: Daniel (in Breedlove, Fl. Chiapas 4: 29. 1995) noted the original material for the name but did not designate a type.
