Eryngium maritimum Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 1: 233. 1753.

Lectotype (Reduron & Jarvis in Jarvis & al., Regnum Veg. 127: 46. 1993): Baeck s.n., Herb. Linn. No. 331.8 (LINN).
Generitype of Eryngium Linnaeus (vide Hitchcock, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 138. 1929).
Current name: Eryngium maritimum L. (Apiaceae).
