Lectotype (Nouviant in Bull. Murith. Soc. Valais. Sci. Nat. 114: 132, f. 1. 1996): Herb. Clifford: 465, Ephedra 1 (BM-000647523).
Generitype of Ephedra Linnaeus (vide Green, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 192. 1929).
Current name: Ephedra distachya L. (Ephedraceae).
