Description
Hibiscus tiliaceus Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 694. 1753.
"Habitat in India." RCN: 5082.
Lectotype (Borssum Waalkes in Blumea 14: 31. 1966): Herb. Hermann 3: 51, No. 259 (BM-000594693).
Current name: Talipariti tiliaceum (L.) Fryxell (Malvaceae).
Note: Borssum Waalkes gave the species number of the type as “258” in error for “259”, but as there is no specimen numbered 258 at the given location, this is treated as a correctable error.
