Description

Dolichos purpureus Linnaeus, Species Plantarum, ed. 2, 2: 1021. 1763.

"Habitat in Indiis." RCN: 5346.

Neotype (Verdcourt in Turland & Jarvis in Taxon 46: 469. 1997): France. Loire-Atlantique: Reze near Nantes, hort. C. Renault, 14 Aug 1900, ex Herb. Gadeceau (BM).

Current name: Lablab purpureus (L.) Sweet subsp. purpureus (Fabaceae: Faboideae).
