Paratype. Juvenile on the same slide as holotype (SAMA 22660,02).

Description. Size. Length up to 2.14 mm excluding antennae (holotype).

Colour. (Fig. 3E and 5L) Whitish with purple–blue pigment on Antennae and legs. Anterior of head pigmented, two black eyes spots. Th II with lateral colour faded. Th III with lateral bands and a transverse band distally on tergite. Abd I without colour, Abd II and III totally pigmented, Abd IV and V with the half posterior half pigmented.

Four labral papillae with conical projection not chaetallike (Fig. 36H). Four prelabral ciliate chaetae and 5, 5 4 labral smooth chaetae. External process of labial papilla E surpassing the papilla tip. Posterior labial row with MREL 1 L 2 ciliated chaetae, R smaller than M. Eight eyes, G and H similar in size to E and F.

Thorax and abdomen. Ratio of lengths Abd IV/III=4 (Holotype). Trochanteral organ near 14 spiny chaetae. Unguis characteristic with 4 teeth on internal edge; first pair at 50% distance from base of unguis, and 2 unpaired teeth, first pair at 78% distance from the base; most distal one minute (difficult to see). Dorsal tooth basal. Unguiculus truncate, external edge smooth on all legs; internal edge with an apparent lamella (Fig. 36F). Furcal length 900 μm (Holotype). Manubrial plate with 4 chaetae and 2 psp? Mucro with 2 teeth, subapical tooth smaller than apical one. Mucronal spine present. Distal smooth part of dens a little longer than the mucronal length (Fig. 36G).

Macrochaetotaxy. Simplified formula: 3,1,0,3,2/5,4/2,3/1,0,1/4(5),4(3),6,4(5),4. Head chaetotaxy (Fig. 36A) of H1 area with An 2, An 3a1 and An 3, H2 area with A 5, S’ 0 Mc absent, H4 with Mc S 1, S 3 and S 4i, H5 with Mc Ps 2 and Ps 5. Thoracic chaetotaxy (Fig. 36B) with Area T1 on Th II with 5 Mc (m 1, m 1p, m 2, m 2i and m 2i2). Area T2 on Th II with 4 Mc present (a 5, m 4, m 4p and m 5). Abdominal chaetotaxy (Fig. 36C) with Area A1 on Abd II with 2 Mc (a 2 and a 3) and area A2 on with 2 Mc (m 3, m 3ep and m 3e). Abd III with 1 mac on areas A3 and A5, without Mc on area A4, m 3 Mc as Fig. 36D. Abd IV with 44 Mc (A 1, A 2 –A 6, B 1, B 3 –B 6, D 1, E 1, C 1 and C 2a (Fig. 36C) and some chaetae of Ae and Ai series as mes). B 5 Mc as figure 36E. The Chaetotaxic distribution is rather asymmetrical. Sensillary chaetotaxy not seen.

Remarks. Only six species have 2,3/1,0,1 Mc on Th II and III: E. nivalis (Linnaeus, 1758), E. leonensis Jordana & Baquero, 2005, E. caputovisensis sp. nov., E. unostrigata Stach, 1930 and E. salina sp. nov. Entomobrya salina sp. nov. differs in the unguis structure, the chaetotaxy of Abd IV, Th II and colour pattern.

Etymology. The species name refers to the specialised habitat in which this species is found.
