Family LEIODIDAE Fleming

Leiodesidae Fleming, 1821: 51 (incorrect original spelling). [stem: Leiod -]. Type genus: Leiodes Latreille. Comment: Incorrect original stem formation; not in prevailing usage.

(= Liodidae, Anisotomidae, Camiaridae, Catopidae, Colonidae, Leptodiridae, Leptinidae, Platypsyllidae of various authors).

Liodini Reitter, 1884: 91 (in key; not stated as taxonomic novelty; based on unjustified emendation). Type genus: Leiodes Latreille (as Liodes, unjustified emendation in Erichson, 1845: 87).

Distribution: Worldwide.
