Description

Monardia (Trichopteromyia) relicta Jaschhof

A single male collected in a backyard in Småland represents the first record of Trichopteromyia relicta in Sweden. This is the first find of this rare species after its description in 2009 from two males collected as singletons in Finland (Jaschhof & Jaschhof 2009: 207 f.).

Material examined. Sweden: 1 male, Småland, Alsterbro, backyard with rich flora including woody plants, 15 March–21 April 2016, MT, MCJ (spn. CEC 2775 in NHRS).
