This paper presents a different type of photovoltaic (PV) structure called delta, S(60). This was developed in order to achieve a constant irradiance daily profile similar to the one obtained with a North-South horizontal axis tracker (1xh) since this constancy is essential for a set of PV applications, namely for PV irrigation systems because the dynamic of the well usually requires constant water flow. The performance of S(60) in a PV irrigation system (PVIS) pumping to a water pool in Spain is compared with the one of 1xh and with the one of a typical static structure oriented to the Equator, S(25). Results show that S(60) is of keen interest in PVIS since it requires a peak power lower than the one needed in the case of S(25) in order to achieve the same water volume along the irrigation period.
